Well, after being lazy the whole April, we gonna put some stories out here on the website. Though the bike season has started now and most of us couldn't wait to get back on their bikes, we took the chance for riding and not playing around here on the website. After a long and dirty winter, the weather changed and it seems like we're getting a nice and warm spring, which means lots of ride outs.
On May 1st, we had a german holliday, the so called "Father's Day". So some of us went to Bammental to have a good time at a small open air concert. "Dirty Deeds", an AC/DC Coverband came to town to rock the community. With steak, bratwurst and good beer, sunny and dry weather, we had rockin' good time and enjoyed it. Here are some pics..... Dirty Deeds rocked... Es wurde voll - It got crowded... |

Two weeks after a fire rips through an Eastern Kentucky business, its owner is somehow finding a way to keep his shop open. For now, the owner of Lewis Custom Cycles finds himself shipping motorcycle parts across the globe from his living room.Ronnie Lewis now prepares packages in his living room to ship everywhere from Tennessee to Turkey, but the mess right outside his door is a reminder of what happened just a few weeks ago. "First thing we got to do is clean up the mess and that's going to take time money and a lot of help," Lewis said. On March 9th, the Lewis Market and Lewis Custom Cycles burned to the ground after a fire started in a coal burning stove. Lewis's parents opened the market nearly 60 years ago and with the community's help, Lewis says his mother is learning to cope with the loss. "She's a lady with a big heart. I never realize how tough my mother could be," Lewis said. |

I’m not like most motorcycle enthusiasts; I got into motorcycles kinda late in life. I bought my first bike, 2003 Honda Shadow Spirit, in April of 2003. With the help of a lot of great guys on The Spirit World ( www.thespiritworld.org), I learned a lot about my bike and about the “brothership” that comes along with riding motorcycles. Like most, I caught the “modding” bug and spent the next three years working on it and making it “my own”. Well, about the time that I got the news that I was going to deploy to Afghanistan for a year was about the time that I was starting to think about graduating to a bigger bike. Once I got over to Afghanistan and settled in, I started giving it some more thought. I decided that I didn’t want to go with a “custom” bike...making a stock bike “your own” was a lot of fun for me with the Honda, so I decided to try it again. Looked at a few other brand names, but the Night Train was the only one that jumped out to me. The more I looked at it, the more I realized that the bike had a lot of “potential” for making it into whatever I wanted. Soon after, I find another great Web site, HD Forums ( www.hdforums.com) and started snooping around there. I came across a picture of a Night Train that was awesome; the other and I had very similar taste. Seeing this bike was pretty much the decision make for me. Thanks, Nick! |
